Replacing a TetherBox

When you need to replace an existing TetherBoxes (for warranty replacement, upgrade, or other reasons), the activation wizard will transfer your configuration and subscription details to the new unit automatically.

Warning: Local footage is NOT transferred – Local recordings on the old TetherBox are NOT copied to the new unit. If you need to retain old footage, keep the old unit or remove its drive before the Factory Reset occurs.

Danger: Cloud recordings are permanently deleted – ALL cloud recordings from the old TetherBox are permanently deleted during the Factory Reset process. This cannot be undone. Download any required cloud footage before replacing the unit.

What Gets Transferred

All Cameras and their settings, camera zones and their configurations, and cloud recording settings are automatically transferred to the new unit.

Network Devices

Switches, routers, and other discovered network Devices are transferred to the new unit.
