Control Room Software Integration
TetherX integrates with leading Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC) software platforms:
- IMMIX - Video verification and alarm management
- Sentinel - Central station automation
- CONXTD - Video surveillance and alarm receiving
- HikCentral - Hikvision's central management platform
TetherX uses an email integration to send alarm reports. This approach is also known as Generic Video Interface (for live view) or Generic Line Interface (for alerts with pre/post capture snapshots).
Operators can view live video directly within their monitoring software, receive alerts with snapshots, and access TetherX directly without port forwarding or VPNs.
Setup Process
Your ARC must first configure their software to receive email events (setting up a line handler). Once complete, follow these steps:
-
Click Edit on the site you want to configure
Select the ARC Integration tab
Tick Enable Integration and enter the details provided by your ARC

- Email: ARC email address (IMMIX, Sentinel, CONXTD, or HikCentral)
- SiteID: Unique site identifier for the ARC
- Mail Server: SMTP server hostname (if using custom settings)
- Port: As specified by your ARC (typically 25, 465, or 587)
- Username/Password: SMTP credentials if required
Click Update Site
Once saved, all Machine Learning (Calipsa/DeepAlert), Analytics (object unattended), and VMD Events are sent to the alarm receiving centre with pre/post capture snapshots.
Adding Live Video
TetherX provides MJPEG URLs that can be added directly into your ARC software for live viewing.
- Go to the Control Rooms page
- Copy the MJPEG URL for each camera
- Add the URL to your control room software configuration
Advantages
| Advantage | Description |
|---|---|
| Secure Communication | All communication is encrypted. No need to keep firmware up to date or expose local networks to external threats. See our Security Whitepaper. |
| Easy Setup | Enter SMTP line handler details once within TetherX - not per camera or per recorder. |
| No Port Forwarding | No need to work with local IT teams to open ports. No risk of future network changes breaking the setup. |
| No Static IP Required | Works with cellular/4G/5G connections and corporate networks with strict IT policies. |
| Reliable Setup | Replace a camera or recorder, reset a router, or make network changes - everything keeps working. |
| Reliable Signalling | Alarms are never silently dropped. If an alarm cannot be reported, a health alert is raised. |
| Better Alerts | TetherX generates more and higher quality images for operators and improved Calipsa accuracy. |
| More Alerts | Detect unplugged network devices, plus various health checks and reports. |
| Better Device Compatibility | Highest quality data regardless of manufacturer, model, or firmware - even with devices not directly compatible with your alarm monitoring software. |
