Supported Devices and Integrations
TetherX integrates with three primary categories:
- Video Surveillance - Cameras, recorders, PTZ, 2-way audio, and horn speakers. Supports legacy devices from the 90s through to modern AI cameras. Analog cameras work with an encoder.
- Alarm Panels - Serial-connected legacy panels, modern panels with RESTful or cloud interfaces, and any panel with an IP communicator via SIA or Contact ID.
- Access Control - Integration with systems like Paxton Net2, or direct connections to units like Hikvision Face Station.
Additional Integrations
- Managed Switches & Wireless Bridges - SNMP and API integration for signal monitoring and remote port power cycling
- Relays & Sensors - IP relay/sensor boards for parking automation (e.g., ControlByWeb, Robot Electronics ETH008-B, KMtronic)
- Serial Devices - Serial connections for specialised hardware - contact us for details
- Matrix Displays - LED signs for ANPR applications using SDHX, HX & HXE protocols
- IoT Devices - Integration via the API
- Network Interfaces - Multiple NICs, USB adapters (e.g., TP-Link UE300), automatic failover, and isolated networks
Video Surveillance
TetherX supports ONVIF-compliant cameras and any device with an RTSP or HTTP stream. Compatible with 200+ manufacturers and over 17,000 devices.
- Automatic detection - ONVIF cameras and RTSP streams are automatically detected
- Manual addition - HTTP streams or cameras on separate networks can be added manually
- Native API integrations - Hikvision, Dahua, Lilin, Homaxi, and others for enhanced analytics and event handling

Access Control
Access control integration is a key focus area for 2026. If you have a system you'd like integrated, let us know.
Supported systems:
- Paxton Net2 (including Net2Cloud) - real-time door events, user management, access levels, and automatic event creation when access is granted or denied
The API is available for custom access control integrations.
Alarm Panels
TetherX acts as a SIA DC-09 or Contact ID receiver, supporting any alarm panel with an IP communicator. Direct integrations provide additional features such as remote zone bypass, virtual keypad, output triggering and more.

- Texecom Elite Series - up to 640 zones with extenders
RESTful API integrations:
- Eaton i-ON Series
Cloud integrations:
Cloud-connected alarm panels integrate via their manufacturer's cloud API. Link your account to TetherX to receive real-time alarm events and control arming status remotely - no additional hardware or wiring required.
- AJAX - via AJAX Cloud account (in testing - contact us with your specific requirements)
- Hikvision AX Pro - via HikProConnect

Cellular Connectivity
- Routers - Compatible with all 3G/4G/5G routers (e.g., Teltonika RUT200)
- USB Modems - Linux-compatible 3G/4G/5G modems (e.g., Teltonika TRM250)
Tip: Budget USB modems may have reliability issues. We recommend Teltonika devices.
API
Push or pull data via the TetherX API. Create custom integrations such as fire alarm triggers that TetherX processes automatically.
